This Week’s Police Blotter – City of Alexandria, Virginia

Robbery/Barricade Incident:

(previous incident:) 415 East Monroe Street. 9/28 between 4:45 A.M. and 5:06 A.M. The suspect entered the business wearing a mask and brandishing a handgun. The suspect removed business and personal property. Witnesses were unable to determine whether the armed gunman had exited the business. This incident resulted in a five hour barricade while Police investigated if the gunman had left the building. The suspect was not found on the property. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as an unknown race male, 05′03″ to 05′08″, 160 to 180 lbs. The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, white shirt and blue jeans.

Robbery:

(previous incident:) 415 East Monroe Avenue. Oct. 2 at 2:29 a.m.
An unknown suspect entered the business and brandished a handgun. The suspect removed business property and fled. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black mask, green jacket with a hood, black pants and white sneakers.

Robbery:

On Oct. 21, police arrested Joshua Chevres, a 19-year-old City resident, for both robberies at 415 E. Monroe Avenue.

5701 Duke Street.
On Oct. 20 at 12:05 a.m., two City residents were robbed at gunpoint of personal property. There were no injuries. The suspect is a black male, 25 years old, wearing a red shirt and blue pants.

100 block of South Van Dorn Street. Oct. 21 between 8:50 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
The victim, a 19-year-old Alexandria woman, reports that an unknown suspect approached her from behind and took her purse. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as a white male, 6′00″ to 6′02″, 170 to 190 lbs, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

Intersection of Oronoco Street and North West Street, Oct. 21 at 7:45 p.m. The victim, a 28-year-old Washington, D.C. woman, reports that two unknown suspects approached her and demanded her property. One suspect brandished a handgun. The victim complied, and the suspects fled. There were no injuries. The first suspect is described as a black male wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a black male wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans.

Burglary:

200 block of East Nelson Avenue.
On Oct. 14 between 12:00 a.m. and 10:47 p.m., an unknown person entered the residence by unknown means and removed personal property.

Update: Burglary Arrest

900 block of East Taylor Run Parkway.
On Sept. 5 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. some unknown suspect entered the residence through the back door and removed personal property. Jerry Lowery, 34, was arrested and charged with Burglary in relation to this case.
