Motorists strongly urged to use alternate routes to avoid delays

Weather permitting, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will continue conducting Capital Beltway, Telegraph Road interchange and other area closures April 13-21. Variable message signs will be posted to alert drivers and provide detour information when necessary. This work will have significant impacts on Beltway and local traffic, and motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. The scheduled work is as follows.

TELEGRAPH ROAD INTERCHANGE AND AREA CLOSURES

Friday, April 13 OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next morning:

  • Telegraph Road North will be closed at the Beltway to allow bridge and roadway construction. Northbound travelers will be reduced to one lane before reaching Huntington Avenue; all traffic will be required to exit by the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue. Also, Pershing Avenue access to Telegraph Road North will be closed. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue to Eisenhower Avenue eastbound to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street
  • The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue to Eisenhower Avenue eastbound to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street eastbound to U.S. Route 1 South to the on-ramp to the Outer Loop
  • The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue to Eisenhower Avenue westbound to the Eisenhower Connector to the Inner Loop.
