Motorists STRONGLY Urged To Avoid The Area
This work normally causes HUGE backups on Duke Street going into and out of Old Town.
Weather permitting, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will continue conducting Capital Beltway, Telegraph Road interchange and other area closures April 9-16. Variable message signs will be posted to alert drivers and provide detour information when necessary. This work will have significant impacts on Beltway and local traffic, and motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. The scheduled work is as follows.
TELEGRAPH ROAD INTERCHANGE AND AREA CLOSURES
Friday, April 13 at 9 p.m. CONTINUOUSLY to 5 a.m. Monday, April 16:
- Telegraph Road South will be closed from Duke Street to Huntington Ave. for bridge and roadway construction. Local detour signs will be posted.
- The ramps from Duke Street East and West to Telegraph Road South will be closed for bridge and roadway construction.
- Detours: Eastbound motorists should continue to U.S. Route 1 South to the Inner Loop to Telegraph Road South. Westbound motorists should continue to Van Dorn Street South to the Outer Loop to Telegraph Road South.
