Portner Brewhouse Opening in the West End of Alexandria, Virginia

The long-awaited and highly anticipated 150 seat Portner Brewhouse announced its grand opening date today in an email to their Taste Team members. Catherine and Margaret Portner, two of Robert Portner’s great-great granddaughters, are opening their new brewery restaurant featuring craft beer and German-American cuisine on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

They are opening at 5770 Dow Avenue, part of Modera Tempo, the 360 unit mixed-use apartment complex, in the Van Dorn neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

The brewery restaurant and Craft Beer Test Kitchen is inspired by the South’s largest pre-Prohibition brewery, The Robert Portner Brewing Company, which was headquartered in Old Town Alexandria, from 1869 until Virginia passed Prohibition in 1916.

Taste Test team members can be part of a SOFT opening the weekend before the GRAND opening. Like me, you can get the latest updates from the Portner Brewhouse by joining the FREE Taste Test Team.
