The 2014 Commuter Challenge is coming and both employees and employers can win GREAT prizes.

The City of Alexandria Commuter Challenge is a friendly competition between employers in Alexandria that encourages employees to leave their cars at home and commute to work using an alternative means of transportation. The challenge is part of the City of Alexandria’s Local Motion program, and takes place for two weeks – March 31 – April 11, 2014.

For example, instead of driving you could:

  • walk,
  • bike,
  • carpool/vanpool,
  • use the bus,
  • take the subway/train,
  • trolley
  • and telework.

Due to icy road conditions and frigid temperatures overnight, DASH will be operating weekday service at 7 a.m. on dedicated snow routes. As conditions improve, DASH anticipates resuming regular routing on all routes. Please expect some delays due to conditions.
