Young Ambassadors participate in 5K run/walk as the face of Iraq’s most vulnerable children

Mayor of the City of Alexandria, Dignitaries and Ambassadors join the Iraqi Children Foundation at 5th annual “In Their Shoes” 5K Run/Walk to benefit street children in Iraq

The Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF) will host its 5th Annual “In Their Shoes” 5K run/walk on May 20, 2017 at the US Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia. The 5K will benefit Iraq’s most vulnerable: orphans, street children, and kids displaced by ISIS.

Foster’s Grille, located at 2004 Eisenhower Avenue in the Eisenhower East neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, is hosting a ‘Yappy Hour’ fundraiser TONIGHT at 5:30 PM benefiting the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA).

The ‘Yappy Hour’ event will be held rain or Shine. FREE fries, onion rings and dog treats! Happy Hour prices on beer.

No dog is needed to attend. During ‘Yappy Hour’, come out and meet some adorable adoptable candidates from AWLA.

Admission is FREE to Eisenhower Partnership members, guests and non-members. Registration is not required.

All donations to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

The Alexandria Wahoos (the city swim team for ages 5-18) is hosting a fundraiser TODAY – Friday, June 20 at the Crave frozen yogurt shop in the Bradlee Shopping Center. Help celebrate the end of school and the start of our swimming season!! Stop by Crave anytime between the hours of 4-9PM and tell the cashier that you are there for the Wahoos fundraiser and 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the team.

Alexandria Fire Department Partners with Baskin Robbins
to Raise Funds for National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

The Alexandria Fire Department will partner with Baskin Robbins, 1701 Centre Plaza, 3020 Duke Street and 3325 Jefferson Davis Highway this Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.  As part of a national Baskin Robbins event “31 Cent Scoop Night” the Fire Department will help collect money to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

If the weather isn’t too bad, come out support a great cause by getting a 2.5 ounce scoop of Baskin Robbins ice cream for just 31¢.  In celebration of 31 Cent Scoop Night, Baskin Robbins will make a donation of $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit institution, established by Congress in 1992, that leads a nationwide effort to remember America’s fallen firefighters and assist their families and coworkers.  In 2004, it established the Everyone Goes Home Program to help prevent firefighter line-of-duty deaths.  For information on the NFFF go to
