You can see our previous reports on ‘Shots Fired’ calls at this link. Question is, Alexandria Police have changed how they report ‘shots fired’ calls to the Alexandria, Virginia community but, are they still occurring?

In the last week or so, I have heard from a great number of readers about hearing gunshots in the Parker Gray community. What do you say readers? Are you still hearing ‘shots fired’ in Alexandria?

Certainly you have had a Sugar Shack donut by now – haven’t you? Sugar Shack Donuts is located at 804 North Henry Street in Alexandria, Virginia.

Now, the long-awaited speakeasy known as ‘Captain Gregory’s’ is opening this weekend at Sugar Shack. The speakeasy shares space with the donut shop and the name is an homage to Alexandria, Virginia’s Port City history and to the legendary ship captain who also was the inventor of the hole in the donut. They have been having an invite-only soft opening recently and are ready for reservations and are ready to serve handcrafted cocktails and food behind a secret door in the Sugar Shack. We got a sneak peek at the space earlier this winter, which includes a boat made by the Alexandria Seaport Foundation.

APD badgeThe Alexandria Police Department responded to an incident at a church in the 500 block of N. Alfred Street (see below) in the Parker Gray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia this morning.

A mentally ill person caused a disturbance and has been taken into custody to receive services.

There were no injuries reported.
