Alexandria Restaurant Partners Brings Shoreline Favorites to Old Town Waterfront
Vola’s Dockside Grill & High Tide Lounge
Alexandria Restaurant Partners (ARP) announces the homestretch of preparations and finishing touches for the much-anticipated opening of Vola’s Dockside Grill and Hi-Tide Lounge, a casual, full-service seafood restaurant and hideaway bar on the waterfront in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. ARP is the group behind Virtue Feed & Grain, in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia, Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap in Alexandria, Palette 22 in Shirlington, Virginia, and The Majestic, also located in Old Town, which opened in May this year. This latest 4,800 square foot project (plus patio) is located at 101 N. Union Street, at the Torpedo Factory, and will have more than 200 seats in total, including outdoor dining space with unobstructed views across the Potomac River and beyond.
At the full-service, casual style 160-seat Vola’s Dockside Grill, guests can anticipate a raw bar, a long dining room with waterfront views, a long, 20-seat bar, and more than 75 seats at the Potomac River dockside patio. The menus emphasize a simple, straightforward approach to seafood and dockside favorites that reflect an appreciation for quality products, regional East coast cooking influences, and amplified flavors. Having readily available fresh fish, seafood, seasonal vegetables, and a clear focus on simple preparations and unfussy presentations, Corporate Executive Chef Graham Duncan, Executive Chef Santiago Lopez, and newly named Chef de Cuisine Walter Silva are excited to deliver great tasting, exceptional menus at great value.
The Hi-Tide Lounge is an intimate, 38-seat cocktail-focused hideaway bar, accessible from the main restaurant by a connecting hallway, or a separate entrance at the corner of King and Union Streets. A mix of classic drinks like frozen Piña Colada, Hurricane (on tap), tiki-inspired original recipe cocktails, craft beer on draft, and a small bar menu of appetizers compliment the early 60’s era modern vibe of the surroundings, which include vintage posters, album cover art, and retro design barstools and lounge furniture.
“Since we began talking about this project, we knew this prime spot at the Old Town, Alexandria waterfront would work best with a simple and accessible seafood concept without any pretense or fluff,” offered ARP Partner Scott Shaw. “My partners and I have a great appreciation for being on the water, and we all love seafood, so seeing our homegrown concept and the menu all fall into place is very exciting.” (more…)
