Think you know your Alexandria, Virginia (Red Brick Town)?

Think you know your Alexandria, Virginia (Red Brick Town)? This is a weekly contest (April’s runs through May 1) with the winning points at the end of the month receiving a $50 gift card to Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza + Tap (rules and scoring at link). Quite a few folks knew the answer to April’s week 1 photo. Scoring for week 1 was posted last night.

See if you can guess the location of this photo, located somewhere in Alexandria, Virginia. What we’re looking for is either 1) the business name or 2) the address of the building. Either of those answers will be correct. Enter your answer in the comments below.

NOTE: If you answered last week, you MUST use same name and email address in the comments section below to get the points.

CLUE(S): The photo is someplace near where I checked in on Swarm recently (See Foursquare history here too). It is nearby a favorite stop of mine. You can click on the photo for a closer look if need be. Last week’s was located in the Carlyle neighborhood – this photo is not.

Burke & Herbert Bank is requesting submissions for its Lights, Camera, Save! Video Contest. Sponsored by the American Bankers Association Foundation, Lights, Camera, Save! is a national, bank-driven competition that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of saving and inspire others to become lifelong savers.

“Lights, Camera, Save! is an opportunity for teens to use their creativity, learn about using money wisely and communicate those lessons with their peers,” said Terry Cole, Senior Vice President at Burke & Herbert Bank. “We understand the importance of financial education and are thrilled to participate in a contest that encourages our local students to develop smart saving habits.”

To participate, students (ages 13-18) must create a 90-second video on saving and using money wisely and submit a link to the video along with a completed entry form to save@burkeandherbertbank.com. Or, bring your video to any Burke & Herbert Bank branch by December 1, 2015. NOTE: If you are dropping your entry form at a branch, please click here (PDF) for special instructions. Videos will be judged on their quality, message, content and the criteria set forth by the contest’s official rules (PDF).

Burke & Herbert Bank will host the first round of judging and will select a winner to represent it on the national level for a prize up to $5,000, plus a scholarship for a teacher at their school to attend the 2016 Jump$tart National Educator Conference in Washington. Burke & Herbert Bank is rewarding the top three local winners with $350, $100, and $50, respectively, to further their savings goal. Entry forms and more information can be found at burkeandherbertbank.com.

Since 1997, the ABA Foundation’s financial education initiatives have reached some 7.2 million young people with the help of more than 210,000 banker volunteers. Learn more about the contest at lightscamerasave.com or burkeandherbertbank.com.
