A veteran law enforcement official has been named to a senior Amtrak Police Department position. Deputy Chief Eddie L. Reyes will be stationed in Washington, D.C. to command Amtrak railroad police officers in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of Amtrak.

“Deputy Chief Reyes has an extensive history in law enforcement and it is a great benefit to bring individuals to our department that can continue to enhance what has already been established here,” said Chief Hanson.

Reyes enjoyed a long career with the Alexandria Police Department in Alexandria, Virginia, and was promoted through the ranks to the position of Deputy Chief. Prior to his career with the Alexandria Police Department, Reyes was employed as a federal law enforcement officer at the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Va.
