Arlandria-area Farmer’s Market to continue through Spring 2016

4MR-Market

The Four Mile Run Farmers & Artisans Market will continue to operate through April 2016 indoors at the Four Mile Run Park Conservatory Center (the bright red building at 4109 Mt. Vernon Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia) on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many of the vendors will stay on all winter.

Via ARLANDRIA, here’s this week’s update

There are always more than a few great artists on hand at the Four Mile Run Farmers AND Artisans Market, but our cup runneth over with a few great new additions. We are overwhelmed by the quality of craftsmanship that these folks bring us each week. We hope you can make the time to come see!!

It should be another full winter market with Alaskan sockeye salmon, produce, bagels, fresh baked breads, Bulgarian baked goods, artisan soap, hand blended teas, eggs, yogurt, cave-aged cheeses, hand-made jewelry, and more!

And the weather should cooperate with another day with above average temperatures and sun!

Who would have thought the market would be in full swing in February just a few months ago! Thanks for making the 4MR Winter Market such a success thus far!

The parking lot is all dug out, much of the snow on the 4MR Park plaza has melted, and we’re an indoor market anyway, so come on back for our unexpected grand re-snowpening!

You definitely don’t expect to see a storm like Jonas too often, so hopefully that will be our last weather induced closing of the year! This will be a great weekend to come out to 4MR Winter Market!

Bagel Uprising will be there so you can get your first good bagel in weeks!Homestead Farm will be back with winter produce!  Captain Xander will be back with sustainably caught Alaskan sockeye salmon! And on top of that, new crafter Red Fish Rue Fish will be there for the first time to bring you her unique and sometimes geeky jewelry pieces, custom buttons, prints, and microart!

You’ll also find bread fresh from the oven (Second Rising), Amish cheeses, eggs, yogurt, and other goodies (Tom’s Amish Cheese), hand blended teas (Whole Health), fresh baked Bulgarian treats (Savory N’ Sweet), and several other great vendors there this Sunday!

It should be a great market, so come on back out… the weather’s fine!

Via ARLANDRIA, here’s this week’s update

A new produce vendor will start at 4MR Winter Market this weekend! L & J Edelen & Family’s Homestead Farm raises pesticide free, GMO free greens (kale, collards, turnips, Asian spinach, mustard, micro, swiss chard), squash (butter nut, buttercup, acorn, spaghetti), Sweet potatoes, Irish potatoes, and onions.  Plus, they also have farm fresh eggs and honey during the winter months. While not certified organic, it’s the next best thing!

Also new this Sunday is Red Fish Rue Fish, a local artist who makes unique and sometimes geeky jewelry, customized buttons, prints, and more! Check out her website for a sampling of her work!

And of course, you can also get the bagels, breads, cheese, eggs, teas, soaps, and so much more at the market this Sunday!
