Fairfax County Police officers were called to a home in the 6400 block of Lincolnia Road shortly after 1:40 p.m. on Friday, September 2 for the report of a 34-year-old man experiencing emotional distress, possibly armed with a firearm, and allegedly threatening to harm himself. A perimeter was quickly established around the home by responding officers. The Public Affairs Bureau kept the public and media informed throughout the event through the use of social media.

A barricade was officially declared at about 2:26 p.m. and a SWAT team was dispatched to the scene. Personnel from the Crisis Negotiations Team and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department also responded to the incident.

Attempts to make contact with man continued until the man inside the home surrendered and was taken into custody around 5 p.m. There were no injuries. An emergency custody order was obtained for the man who will be evaluated and provided the services he may need.

Alexandria Police have charged a suspect with murder in the homicide of Shakeel Baldon, who died from injuries sustained during a stabbing that occurred in the 6100 block of Lincolnia Road on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Clarence Terry, 53, of Alexandria, was charged with Murder on June 27, 2016. He is being held without bond in the William G. Truesdale Detention Center in Alexandria.

City of Alexandria Police Department - bank robbery

The victim from last night’s stabbing has been identified as Shakeel Baldon, 43, of Alexandria, Virginia. This incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Last night, on Thursday, May 5, at approximately 9:36 p.m., officers responded to the area for an injured person. The adult male victim was located by police suffering from upper body trauma. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The investigation is ongoing.

This is second homicide in Alexandria in 2016.

City of Alexandria Police Department - bank robbery
Early this morning, the Alexandria Police Department investigated a commercial robbery in the 6000 block of Lincolnia Road (see below) and they have the suspect in custody.

A suspect robbed convenience store with a firearm and was apprehended as he fled.

There were no injuries reported.

APD badgeAs we told you early this morning, the Alexandria Police Department is investigating a felonious assault that occurred early this morning at the intersection of Lincolnia Road and Breckenridge Place.

Around 1:40 AM, officers responded for reports of an assault. Upon arrival they located the victim, an adult male, who had been stabbed. The victim stated he was walking in the area when he was confronted by two suspects. He was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
