Baseball Boat at the Alexandria Marina on the Potomac River waterfront in Alexandria, Virginia

Beginning tonight (7/18), the Washington Nationals are taking on the Milwaukee Brewers at Nationals Park in D.C. in a three game series. Instead of driving, consider skipping the traffic and ride the Potomac Riverboat Company’s ‘Baseball Boat’ to the game located in Southeast Washington D.C.

If you buy your tickets online, you get free parking. Cruise time is about 30 minutes (sure beats driving or a Metrorail train) and departs from the stadium 20 minutes after the last pitch. Boat operates for 80% of Nationals games – check website for specific available dates. Times vary upon Nationals schedule and tickets cost One-way $15; Round-trip $25.

For more information, call 703-684-0580 or visit http://www.baseballboat.com.

Washington Capitals

Where do you think the game will be played? I think they’d need a place bigger than Nationals Park. What do you think?

The Washington Capitals will be hosting the 2015 Winter Classic next season against the Chicago Blackhawks, according to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

McKenzie adds that while the venue for the Winter Classic in D.C. hasn’t been finalized yet, the leading candidate is believed to be Nationals Park.

It will be the seventh edition of the National Hockey League’s New Year’s game and the second time that both teams have been participants.

MLB Opening Day

Happy opening day to all our readers! What are your thoughts on the Washington Nationals 2014 season? Can they go all the way? Leave your comments below, and lets get the discussion going!

In the first series they swept the Mets (at this point, I’m thinking the Titans or the Aces could sweep the Mets) and open at home today against their vaunted division rival Atlanta Braves. Jordan Zimmerman takes the mound for the Nats today.

Go Nats!
