14th Annual Comcast Outdoor Film Festival July 15-16 in Old Town Alexandria

The City of Alexandria will host the 14th Annual Comcast Outdoor Film Festival on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at Waterfront Park, 1A Prince St. Gates open at 6:00 PM and movies begin at approximately 8:30 pm (at dusk).
Admission is FREE.

The 2016 film schedule is as follows:

A portion of the proceeds earned will benefit Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington, Alexandria Chapter. Participants may bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on, and coolers and outside food items are welcome. No grilling allowed.

In the event of rain, the evening’s film showing will be cancelled.

The Outdoor Film Festival is cosponsored by the City of Alexandria and Comcast.

Visitors to the historic district are encouraged bike, walk or take the Metrorail Yellow or Blue lines to the King Street Station and take King Street Trolley to the festival. Four Mile Summer Movie Series in Alexandria, Virginia

Four Mile Movie Series Schedule Released

A favorite summer tradition in the Arlandria neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, the Four Mile Movie series,  returns with a host of new and old favorites.

Movie lovers of all ages should head to Four Mile Run Park in Arlandria at the Four Mile Run Conservatory Center on the last Friday of the month this summer, when the park is transformed into an outdoor cinema. Films start at dusk, fun begins at 6:00 p.m. where this free event will also include two hours of activities and entertainment leading up to show time.

  • August 26: “Zootopia”, PG

Four Mile Summer Movies Series is a project of Restore Alexandria in partnership with The City of Alexandria, National Community Church – Potomac Yard, and various community organizations.

This summer, the public is invited to attend Wednesday & Saturday outdoor movies on a three-story high movie screen under the stars at City parks in Alexandria, Virginia. All movies begin at approximately 8:30 PM (at dusk). Admission is FREE. Tonight’s movie is at Waterfront Park, located on the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

  • Saturday, August 22: Hook – When Captain Hook kidnaps his children, an adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit in order to challenge his old enemy.

Free popcorn and water will be available and guests may bring blankets or low beach chairs to sit on. Coolers and outside food items are welcome. In the event of rain, the evening’s film showing will be cancelled.

Finding_NemoFor the eleventh consecutive year, local realtor Jen Walker is sponsoring movie screenings in Del Ray this spring and summer called ‘Cinema Del Ray‘. Bring the family, friends, blankets and chairs – but no four-legged friends please! Fun starts Saturday (8/15). Gates OPEN at 7:00 PM, the movie begins at dusk.

This weekend’s movie is Finding Nemo. After his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home.

The movies are FREE of charge and the screenings are located in the field next to Mount Vernon Recreation Center at 2701 Commonwealth Ave in Del Ray. Popcorn, candy and soda will be for sale.
