Police Investigate Homicide on First Street

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1000 block of First Street on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

At approximately 3:33 a.m., officers responded to the area for a shooting. A man was located by police suffering from trauma to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The victim has been identified as Saquan Hall, 23, of Alexandria

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1000 block of First Street in the Parker Gray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

This is the 2nd shooting in the Parker Gray neighborhood in the last month. This shooting occurred in the wee hours of the morning at approx. 4:00 AM. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries where he died a short time ago.

This incident marks the 4th homicide in Alexandria, Virginia in 2016. Expect police activity in the area.

Alexandria Police COmmunity Meeting at Charles Houston Recreation Center

Residents from the Parker Gray and the Braddock Road Metro neighborhoods of Alexandria, Virginia last night for the Alexandria Police (APD) Community meeting held at the Charles Houston Recreation Center in Alexandria, Virginia. The neighborhood remain uneasy following the recent homicide on Montgomery Street that occurred last week. That was very evident at last night’s turnout.

The meeting was held to try and calm fears in the neighborhood, to give concerned residents an update on where the recent investigations stand, and for police to answer questions from the community.

Police Investigate Homicide on Montgomery Street

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier today in the 1000 block of Montgomery Street in Alexandria, Virginia.

At approximately 12:35 p.m., officers responded to the area for a shooting. A man was located by police suffering from trauma to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The victim has been identified as Pierre Clark, 28, of no fixed address.

This is the third homicide in Alexandria this year.

Alexandria Police Make Arrest in Bell Pre Way Homicide

This is an update to this post. Alexandria Police have arrested and charged a suspect with the homicide of Leon Williams, who died from injuries sustained during a shooting that occurred on Belle Pre Way in Alexandria, Virginia on October 7, 2015.

Brian Bolar, 26, of Dumfries, was arrested for Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon on May 19, 2016. He is being held without bond in the William G. Truesdale Detention Center in Alexandria.

“Last year when this terrible crime occurred, I promised that our detectives would not rest until this case resulted in the arrest of the perpetrator”, said Chief of Police Earl Cook. “I am continually impressed by the tenacity of our detectives and officers and their dedicated work to close an investigation.”

The Alexandria Police Department would also like to thank the United States Marshall Service for their assistance in the investigation.

Last night, the Alexandria Police Department investigated a robbery between Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and the Parker Gray neighborhood on the path near Cameron and Buchanan Streets.

Police reported two suspects brandished guns and stole belongings from a male victim.

There were no injuries.
