Retail space for lease in the 1000 block of King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

Retail space in core section of Old Town Alexandria

I believe this space housed a retail location next door to Hank’s Oyster Bar and Alexandria Cupcake. As such, this stretch of King Street tends to get a lot of foot traffic and the right business would be perfect here. The reason for the closure is unclear and not known how it relates to the recent string of closures along King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Leasing opportunities like this don’t come along very often along the King Street retail corridor as the King Street retail vacancy rate is less than 3%.

Retail space for lease in the Upper King Street neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia

Like today’s earlier posting on The Kitchen Guild, my apologies for just getting around to posting this news. A couple of readers emailed me about this closure last week.

Le Tastevin Fine Wines, which was part of the resurgence in specialty retail in the Upper King Street neighborhood of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, has closed. I can’t find a site with any information about the closure simply to say that it seemed like it had just opened a couple of years back. The Facebook page has nothing about the closure. If you are interested in the space, call the number above.

Retail space opportunities in the King Street corridor don’t come along often but, seem to be happening more and more lately (see here, here, and here for three examples).

What do you think about this? What would you like to see replace it in the Upper King Street neighborhood?

Retail space for lease in Old Town Alexandria Virginia on Fairfax Street

Was out snapping photos this morning for the popular House of the Day series when I came across this on the 100 block of South Fairfax Street in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Located across from Burke and Herbert Bank and just down from the Stabler-Leadbetter Apothecary Museum and the Shoe Hive and Hysteria (two of Old Town Boutique District’s shops), this area gets quite a bit of traffic usually.

If interested, call the number in the photo.

Was getting a sandwich for myself last night at Potbelly in Carlyle and when heading back to Carlyle Towers, I had a thought. Wouldn’t this space make a good space for a drug store (a la the drug store that was initially planned for the Shops at Eisenhower East?)?

My view is – come on HR Retail – make it happen! What do you think? Yes or no. Comment away!
