TTW_200x200The City of Alexandria’s Local Motion program invites all residents to take part in Try Transit Week, September 21 – 25. Participants who pledge to try bus or rail during that week are entered for a chance to win a variety of prizes. Details coming soon!

What is Try Transit Week?

Try Transit Week is  a statewide event, and the goal is to spread the word about the various transportation choices available in Virginia and the benefits transit can offer – like saving money!!

Why try transit?

Two words: money and time.

Couldn’t you use more of both? When you use transit, you save money on fuel and car expenses. In fact, the average family can save up to $10,000 a year by using transit.

Did you know that the average person wastes more than a week’s vacation sitting in traffic each year? When you use transit you save time because each car off the road means less congestion and fewer traffic delays.

So how does Try Transit Week work?

If you already use a form of transit or are interested in trying something new, you can pledge to use transit during the week of September 21-25, 2015.

When you pledge, you will be automatically entered for a chance to win two round-trip tickets on Amtrak Virginia!
